Hymonoptera

Image of a Bumble bee

The order Hymenoptera includes bees, wasps, ants, and termits. There are around 100,000 known species in the world, but we can speculate that there are actually more species than that. There are three different ranks of Hymenoptera - the queen, worker, and drone. Bees and wasps have a yellow and black pattern on their bodies. Natural enemies of bees and wasps can see the pattern and run away because they are scared of their stingers. On the other hand, ants and termits are brown in color, similar to the color of the ground.
