Aquatic insects are a type of insect that has adapted to live underwater. Every way each aquatic insect breathes differs a bit. The water scorpion breathes by sticking its long tube that is attached to the abdoman out of the water. Diving beetles stick their whole abdoman out of the water to breathe, and they also store air bubbles under their wings and breathe it in bit by bit.
